where each street had their own HOA. On this particular street every home owner was on the board. It was a brand new subdivision and the homeowner was the last house to be built on the street, a cul-de-sac, in addition to several undeveloped lots.

The homeowner and I were talking one evening and he was telling me about his HOA. He said that the HOA had just about complete control over both exterior and interior decisions while the house was being built. He said the only choice he had was whether the kitchen had a single or double sink. If he wanted to change the color of the interior paint, curtains, and other things like that, then he needed to get approval from the HOA. Also, he said all vehicles had to be parked in the garage, which was a single car garage, or in a designated area on the driveway.
